Of course, every good vegan has at least one recipe around for a green smoothie, right? I’m sure I’ll have a load of these on the site eventually, but this is my first one so far. In particular, this is a great creamy smoothie with added protein as well as the vitamins and minerals from the greens.
- 2 cups baby spinach leaves
- 1 whole banana (frozen if you can)
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 tbs chia seeds
- 2 tbs hemp seeds
- 2 tbs almond butter
- 2 dates
You’ll need a powerful blender for this, or else chop up the dates first. If you find the seeds too noticeable in your green smoothie, you could try ground chia or ground hemp instead.
Otherwise, just pop all the ingredients into your blender and whip everything together until smooth. You should get 2 decent sized vegan smoothies from this recipe, if you’re in the mood to share. And of course, this vegan smoothie is totally gluten-free too.
